The Relationship between Fibroblast Growth Factor-23, Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1, Bone Mineral Density, Insulin Resistance, and Hyperandrogenemia in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Aims: The aim of this study was to find out the association between Fibroblast Growth Factor-23 (FGF-23), Insulin-Like Factor-1 (IGF-1), androgens, insulin resistance (IR), and bone mineral density (BMD) in patients with PCOS (Polycyctic Ovary Syndrome) healthy controls is presented.
 Materials Methods: FGF-23, IGF-1, Homeostatic Model Assessment for Insulin Resistance were evaluated 47 26 females, BMD only group. Then these parameters compared groups, according presence IR hyperandrogenemia.
 Results: mean FGF-23 137.55± 75.42 414.81 ± 53.02 (pg/ml), IGF-1 28.41 99.69 244.26 58.99 (ng/ml) controls, respectively. In group, more significantly decreased those amenorrheic. DEXA scores found be similar group terms hyperandrogenemia IR.
 Conclusions: Our results revealed that levels PCOS, which particularly significant IR. According our findings; low level suggests marker may also associated complications but clarify hypothesis, needs investigated.
